Indonesia, and specifically the Sumatra island, is one of the most revered regions for cultivating coffee in the world. This coffee comes from the Permata Gayo Coop, an organic producing consortium in the Gayo region of Sumatra. It is famous for its strong aroma and array of earth notes that mix pleasantly with a dark chocolate and caramel finish.
Roasting and drinking this coffee does some good too: The COOP reinvests its coffee revenues into infrastructure projects, education / schools, job trainings, sports and the arts in the region it comes from.
