Nicaragua SHB EP
SCAA 83 Points
Vibrant Acidity / Medium Body
Notes of pear, orange and green apple
Nicaragua is small producer of coffee compared to many countries, but the Jinotega region is well respected for the coffee it produces. The coffee is shade grown and its SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) and EP (European Preparation) designations refer to it being grown above 1,300 meters above sea level and the omission of defective beans and foreign materials during the milling and export process.
This region uses banana tree canopies to help mitigate pests and shelter the cherry's from intense heat. This coffee is well balanced and has notes of green apple and citrus.
